Sex Lives of College Girls Season 2 fell into the category of ‘shows that sound like Euphoria but are bearable’.
Sex Lives of College Girls is produced by Mindy Kailing and stars Pauline Chalamet (Kimberly Finkle), Amrit Kaur (Bela), Renee Rapp (Leighton Murray), and Alyah Chanelle Scott (Whitney). We shared our opinions on Season 1. But there is more to talk about in Sex Lives of College Girls Season 2.
Why Weren’t 10 Episodes Enough in Season 2?
New-age American TV series are now trying to make 10 episodes and end the season. British Television has been doing the same even with fewer episodes. Each season of IT Crowd, which we talked about before, had 6 episodes.
However, shows like Sex Lives of College Girls want to tell everything and everyone. And if the number of characters is too much, things get even more complicated. And you start forgetting the beginning of the season that you are watching.
Why Can’t We Remember the First Episodes of Sex Lives of College Girls Season 2?
Because none of the girls have a clear storyline. While watching Season 2 I felt like I’d watched 20 different stories. Kimberly Finkle sold her eggs, fell in love with the refugee, and then fell in love with Canaan (?) I genuinely don’t remember what Leighton was up to in the first episodes. But I do remember that she started dating Tatum then broke up with her and get back together with Alicia.
Even if you remember Sex Lives of College Girls Season 2, you still can’t be satisfied with the scenario…
Let’s just say Season 2 is not hard to remember. The real problem was that everything was compressed and vulgarized one after the other. There is much more to tell. Bela’s problems have been going on for two seasons. But due to the never-ending dramas of the other girls, Bela wasn’t even given enough time in Season 2.
The other girls didn’t even turn to Bela, who was cheating on her lover, and said, “Do you realize what you’re doing?”
That’s why the producers need season 3 into 20 episodes.
