By Stranger Thing Season 4 Volume 1, the science fiction series that we have been waiting for three years, has finally been dropped on Netflix. The Duffer Brothers went crazy and (I don’t know, how?!) convinced Netflix to keep all episodes of Stranger Things Season 4 longer than an hour which means each episode is like a mini-movie. In fact, Stranger Things Volume 1 Episode 7 is exactly one hour and 40 minutes, giving the feeling of an independent science fiction movie while watching it.
Is the genre of Stranger Things 4 sci-fi though?
Stranger Things 4 Volume 1 felt like a creepy teenage PTSD feast. Throughout the entire Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 1 we’ve seen young people’s bones getting broken and eyes getting poked in. On top of that, we watched Hopper’s ankles gouged out. I mean, Stranger Things 4 was pretty scary and disturbing.
The level of disgust increases with each passing season. It’s probably because the Duffer Brothers are making more and more money each season, which explains why episodes run for over an hour. A win-win situation for them.
A recap of Stranger Things 3 and 4
With Hopper’s disappearance in Stranger Things 3, the Byers family, who took Eleven, moved to California together. Byers moving to California inevitably created a great distance between the Hawkins kids, which means the lovers, Jonathan and Nancy, had to be away from each other.
You all more or less know how complicated things are during adolescence, and how everything has extreme ups and downs. Every human presumably somehow has experienced that what is out of sight is also out of the heart.
We are facing a similar situation in Stranger Things 4 as well.
It seems that a black cat came between Nancy and Jonathan, whose actors are real-life lovers. At the beginning of Stranger Things season 4, we realize that Jonathan and Nancy are going to college next year and are in a hurry to choose a school as they talk about it through Stranger Things Season 4 Episode 1.
Eleven writes a letter to Will’s boyfriend Mike Wheeler…
In the first 10 minutes of the first episode of Stranger Things season 4, Eleven writes a letter to Will’s boyfriend Mike Wheeler. In the letter, she talks about how much she can’t wait to see him during spring break. Also, on the Hawkins side, Mike talks about how excited he is to see Eleven.
What Happened Between Jonathan and Nancy in Stranger Things 4?
Jonathan and Nancy are also lovers which means they need to see each other too! However, neither Jonathan nor Nancy decides to go to each other’s side.
In Stranger Things Season 4, Jonathan and Nancy are on two different paths, they’re starting college next year. They want to be by each other’s side, but if Jonathan goes to Nancy, he won’t be able to follow his dreams. Likewise, if Nancy goes to Jonathan, she won’t be able to follow her dreams, so a decision has to be made. They are both very nervous about this issue.
Jonathan does not apply to the school that Nancy wants to go to instead he applies to another school in California and gets accepted there. With the stress of this, he decides not to go near Nancy, and they both start hesitating about their relationship.
In the later episodes of Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 1, we see that Nancy has again started to develop romantic feelings for Steve Harrington, whom she had a crush on in season 1 of Stranger Things. Later in Stranger Things season 4, Steve and Nancy get closer. In the first episode of season 4, Steve mentioned that he couldn’t find what he was looking for and that he didn’t know exactly what he was looking for, et cetera. Then we see Nancy watching Steve’s naked body in episode 6 of Stranger Things season 4. After Steve was bitten by Vecna’s creatures, we also watched Nancy’s sultry gaze as she bandaged her wounds. Interesting.
And this is RIDICULOUS. Steve Harrington has worked hard to get Nancy out of his mind throughout season 3 of Stranger Things. I talked about Steve Harrington’s situation in Stranger Things Season 4 and why he might die soon.
Another reason why we’re hopeless about how Jonathan and Nancy’s relationship will work may be that the California band hasn’t been featured a lot in Stranger Things 4 Volume 1 episode so far.
Will, Jonathan, and Mike are drifting here and there. They have not yet witnessed events as interesting as the Hawkins group. Considering that Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 2 will be two episodes, we will not get many answers.
Nancy and Jonathan‘s relationship seems to have come to an end. It’s the end of an era.
